How to Keep Kids Quiet in Class – Sensory Activities

Integrated Learning Strategies (ILS) is a learning and academic center. As a reminder, ILS is not a health care provider and none of our materials or services provide a diagnosis or treatment of a specific condition or learning challenge you may see in your child or student. If you seek a diagnosis or treatment for your child or student, please contact a trained professional who can provide an evaluation of the child.

We’re having a great time with Fox 13’s The Place talking about getting kids ready for back to school with sensory activities to keep children quiet in the classroom. The right, but surprisingly “wrong” types of activities are helping children to stay focused and attentive in school. Teachers are now using these types of activities in their classrooms to improve behavior and performance so more kids are achieving academic success.

Activities help with critical thinking skills, the vestibular and auditory systems, speech and language development, problem solving, anxiety, behavior, and last but not least, attention and focus. Ask your teacher if your child can do some of these sensory activities in their classroom!
