Using the Integrated Movement Activity Center to “Awaken” the Brain for Learning

This article provides an overview of the Integrated Movement Activity Center. Integrated Learning Strategies (ILS) is a learning and academic center. As a reminder, ILS is not a health care provider. None of our materials or services provide a diagnosis or treatment of a specific condition or learning challenge you may see in your child or student. If you seek a diagnosis or treatment for your child or student, please contact a trained professional who can provide an evaluation of the child.

If you haven’t joined the Integrated Movement Activity Center yet, there are a few things that are good to know.

First, this movement center was specifically created to support every child’s learning readiness. No matter if the child has learning challenges or is already excelling in their development, our goal is to help each child reach their greatest academic potential.

The Integrated Movement Activity Center is directed by Alene Villaneda who has more than 25 years of experience working with children in their learning development. We’ve also teamed-up with licensed Occupational Therapist, Tera Robinson, to further support your child or students’ needs in their physical and academic growth.

What does the Movement Center include?

When you enroll in the monthly or annual membership for the Movement Center, you will gain access to the following features:

Video Introductions

16 introductory videos providing direction, duration, frequency and other recommendations for exercises.

Video Trainings

178 movement-based activities to awaken the brain for learning and develop critical motor skills for (10 to 12 videos per series)

Calendar

Our recommended schedule for performing the exercises. How many days to do the activities per week and what variety of exercises may provide the best results.

Equipment

Our recommendations for equipment to use for the exercises. A list of equipment is included and where to find many of the items for the exercises. Equipment is not necessarily needed and can be adapted to the child’s individual needs.

Flexible Options

The membership provides an annual or monthly option for the individual needs of your child or students.

Additional Questions

Before you enroll, you may have some additional questions. Here are a few of the most common you may want to know.

Q: Who is the Movement Center for?

A: We specifically geared the Movement Center toward parents and professionals to provide simple exercises and instructions so parents don’t feel overwhelmed, yet it is still informative enough for therapists to gain the full benefit.

Q: At what age can the kids begin using the activities in the Movement Center?

A: The Integrated Movement Activity Center is for children anywhere from three years old on up.

Q: What’s the difference between the monthly and annual memberships?

A: Members who sign-up on a monthly basis will receive access to a new video series and updated materials every 30 days. This option is especially good for parents so they don’t get overwhelmed. Annual members receive access to all the materials and videos at once. This option is good for therapists and professionals who have students at all different levels.

Q: What equipment will I need?

A: When you join the Movement Center, we will provide you with a list of the equipment and tools we use in all the videos. These are only recommendations. You do not have to have all the pieces of equipment in the videos we use and you can adapt the activities to what helps your child or student perform them successfully.

How can I enroll?

When you are ready to get started, the Integrated Movement Activity Center will provide parents and therapists with step-by-step videos to strengthen all areas of the body and the brain. Parents and professionals can use the activity center to help their kids and students “awaken” the brain for higher learning development.
