Rewiring the Brain Mini Course Preparing the Brain for Emotional Self-Regulation

This article provides important information about the Rewiring the Brain Mini Course for emotional self-regulation. Integrated Learning Strategies (ILS) is a learning and academic center. Are you looking for ways to help your child or students with big emotions? You may be surprised to learn that many emotional setbacks are caused by disconnections in the brain.

If you are looking for a way to build connections in the brain to support emotional grounding, I have good news. I’m excited to share with you a mini course entirely through email that gives you tools and resources to help Rewire the Brain for more emotional stability.

This free Rewiring the Brain Mini Course is a 5-day email course to help you understand why big emotional responses happen and ways to help.

One of the biggest challenges therapists and parents need help with are behaviors and emotions. And we aren’t talking about age-appropriate tantrums and meltdowns. In this mini course, we are targeting areas of the brain the cause issues in children who may experience emotions on a regular basis or for long durations of time.

You may be:

-A therapist looking for ways to explain why and how kids are not emotional regulating on their own. You may want to learn more about how to explain the “why” to parents and how they can recognize triggers to prevent meltdowns from happening in the first place.

-A parent who is desperate for solutions and answers to why your child can’t calm down and why it takes long periods of time for a meltdown to subside. You may also be searching for coping and self-regulation strategies to help. Emotional situations in your household may be too much to handle, overwhelming, and even embarrassing, especially in public.

-A teacher who needs help in the classroom when kids experience emotional moments, but can’t stop the class to focus on one child. You may need ways to help kids self-regulate or even prevent emotional moments from happening so you can continue teaching the rest of the class.

Is any of this ringing any bells?

The free mini course will cover many of the situations above and will give you guidelines and tools to help kids self-regulate. Not only are we working toward calming emotions, we are working toward permanent solutions to rewire the brain for emotional maturity, impulse control and stronger muscle memory.

Rewiring the Brain Mini Course

If you want to learn how to help kids who struggle with:

  • Self-regulating when emotional responses happen in school or at home.
  • Coping when something triggers big emotions.
  • Stopping big emotions when they happen instead of fighting, crying or kicking/punching for hours.
  • Disconnections in the brain that create gaps in emotional grounding.
  • Sensory triggers (itchy clothing, can’t wear headbands, belts or waist bands, sensitive to loud noises, can’t eat certain textures of food, and more.).
  • Holding a pencil and handwriting development.
  • Impulse control and attention issues in the classroom.
  • Following tasks and remembering homework or projects.
  • Hand-strength and fine motor skills.

The Rewiring the Brain mini course will help you learn strategies to help many of the scenarios mentioned above.

Once we learn where kids are getting stuck and if any foundational learning elements have not yet been developed, we can implement strategies to focus on those areas. These skills can be established with time, duration and purposeful learning activities. If there continue to be disconnections in the brain, the gaps will only get wider for the child. You will continue to see trouble with emotions, behavior, attention and focus, impulse control, executive functioning, muscle memory, and higher learning concepts.
